What is cancer?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cancer is the collective term for all diseases in which originally normal cells of the human body change into cancer cells. Cancer cells can proliferate unchecked, form tumors, tap blood vessels, grow into neighboring tissue and damage it, spread throughout the body and form metastases elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For most types of cancer, it is initiated by ageing (the mean age at which people become ill is 70 years). Other possible triggers include chronic inflammation, heredity (around 7%), viruses, environmental toxins, carcinogens, diet, unhealthy lifestyle, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If one assumes, as in school opinion, that one has to fight gene mutations, one is confronted with hundreds of different mutations<\/b>. This makes the new targeted therapies very expensive and restricts them to one type of cancer<\/b>. In addition, one can only hope that a new mutation will not develop in the body of the affected person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therapeutic approach of the conventional medicine<\/b>: destroy tumors and metastases, combat gene mutations (surgery, chemo, radiation or new targeted therapies).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, this therapeutic approach is not (yet) part of the training of physicians, so that you cannot expect any recommendations from most oncologists or any reimbursement from health insurance companies.
